Meet Me

Hello there! Welcome to my corner of the internet! I'm the Mama who writes this blog! I can't tell you how much I love to surround myself with old things! I have an ever-growing collection of vintage homemaking and home economics books, I prefer living in small houses to big ones, I live in the Mitten State (LP, not UP!) with pride, and have a whole hodge podge of things to share with you all!

First and foremost, I'm a Christian.

I'm very passionate about my faith which has gotten me and my family through some of the hardest things a human being can experience. Feel free to ask me questions!

I'm a wife. 

I'm married to a wonderful man that, on my blog, I call "The Hubs." He's just the best. We've been through the fires of hell together and have come through on the other side stronger than ever.

I'm a stay-at-home-mom. 

I'm a mama to four beautiful children: our daughter, Violet, who is waiting for us in Heaven, and three Little Men here on Earth who were born in 2013, 2015, and 2018. They light up my world!

I'm a daughter. 

I was blessed to be raised by two wonderful people who were just crazy in love with their kids. My mother passed away December 2014 from Alzheimer's disease, which has been devastating to our family. At the end of the day, I'm so grateful to have been given the example that she set of how to be an amazing mother and human being.

I'm a sister. 

I have an awesome older sister and a wonderful older brother. Being the baby of the family was really great but being adults with siblings is even better.

I'm definitely Type A. 

For me, one of the most satisfying things in life is to bring order to chaos. I love to purge my house of clutter, organize our house, and work on perfecting my homemaking systems. I love The FlyLady and do my own modified version of her zones. I love to start projects and finishing them even more. Efficiency and order is my life...but in a fun way. I promise!

I'm crafty! 

I have my own Etsy shop called "Wild Violets Handmade" where I sell handmade baby items, toys, amigurumi, and accessories for kids and adults. Flexing my creative muscles is how I unwind and decompress.

I'm learning and growing every day! I'm excited to share this journey with all of you!
